From Burt Wood to Netflix: Former student joins new reality TV show
Peter Carboni was 14 when he first took the stage at the Burt Wood School of Performing Arts. Now 30, the Wareham native has made his Netflix debut.
Carboni appeared on the first season of Building the Band, a new Netflix reality singing competition. The show began with 50 singers, each auditioning anonymously from soundproof booths.

Peter Carboni, 30, grew up in Wareham and attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst. According to his Netflix bio, Carboni loves Queen and The Temptations, and he takes vocal inspiration from the late Brad Delp from the band Boston.
For his first performance, Carboni sang Benson Boone's "Slow it Down." At the end of Episode 4, Carboni had not yet joined a band. With four women competing for the final band's remaining two spots, Carboni may be eliminated next episode.

Local a cappella artist prepares for post-college musical debut
Wareham-raised singer and songwriter Peter Carboni is getting ready for his solo performance, “Back to the Boro,” in Middleboro on Sept. 29.
Carboni just graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a degree in psychology and a certificate in sustainable food and farming. Now that he's a graduate, Carboni said he’s exploring options for a career in music and is excited to see how he can get Wareham residents involved.
